About Susan

My name is Susan French and I fell in love with fashion and design from an early age, and started dressmaking from the age of 9 years old. Since then I have diversified into many fields within haute couture, always creating something unique, glamorous and chic!

I am an English designer /seamstress from South West London.

Previous designs ranged from bridal lingerie bags (which sold to renowned prestigious London stores such as Fortnum & Masons of Piccadilly and Peter Jones Sloane Square London), I have a background of working with fabrics and haberdashery and a good knowledge of materials. I often travel abroad to source new materials and have worked for many years at prestigious London stores in fashion and fabric. I have expertise in re-designing outdated designer outfits and altering bridal wear and intricate beaded costumes which became an asset when adjusting my jewelled costumes for my TV appearances when I became an internationally known dancer! I am always creating and designing new styles to stand out from the crowd which are both glamorous and yet practical. I have high profile customers including Peers of the Realm, undertaking many special requests for specially made outfits for guests of the “Olivier Awards” I enjoy meeting people and making them feel comfortable and elegant in the clothes they wear.

In addition to clothing, I previously branched out into designing handmade silver jewellery, having had my own hall mark which was registered at the London’s Assay office. My passion for the Arts includes a love of dancing and attended dance school at the age of 4 learning tap and ballet, and enjoyed doing shows on stage in London from the age of 6. later on in life I successfully achieved notable fame internationally in the world of Belly dancing as a teacher, choreographer and professional dancer, working in the TV and film industry entertaining and teaching celebs, choreographing shows here and abroad and branching into specialist dance holidays. I taught both here and in Turkey, was an Equity member and entertained Celebs, Ministers, Ambassadors and Royalty and worked with film, TV and radio
